The foot meridian is related to the spleen, gallbladder, bladder, stomach, liver and kidney organs. The health of your foot is necessary for proper balance of the acupuncture energy system.
The original Birkenstock shoes contoured footbed was created by a German, Konrad Birkenstock in 1897. Birkenstock sandals have changed over the years but the comfort and support remain the same. The specially designed footbed is well known for its arch support. The lightweight sole absorbs shock when you take a step. Some of the more common conditions resulting from poor shoes include low back pain, plantar fasciitis and heel pain, and problems with toes. A common prescription for many of these conditions is shoes with proper arch support and acupuncture treatments. So as we can see, Birkenstock acupuncture shoes just might be the thing to relieve our body's imbalance.
